Scheelite - Mt. Xuebaoding, Hujia, Pingwu County, Aba Prefecture, Sichua, China

Scheelite from Mount Xuebaoding is one of our Top 100 Minerals.

The miners of the tin-tungsten veins of the Mount Xuebaoding massif have in the last decade brought some of the world’s finest scheelite specimens to the market. These superb examples typically exhibit lustrous, translucent to gemmy orange pseudo-octahedral crystals to 8 cm on an edge.  Many are associated with tabular beryl and lustrous black cassiterite, all of which are most commonly and aesthetically nestled on beds of densely packed pale-gray muscovite.
