Dreislar Mine, Dreislar, Winterberg, Sauerland, Germany

An attractive German specimen featuring a plate of bladed white Baryte dotted with golden Chalcopyrites and several saddle-shaped clusters of tan Dolomite. The Baryte has vitreous lustre, forming thin sharp blades to nearly 2cm length, and becomes pinkish in colour of the rear of the specimen. The Chalcopyrites are sharply formed, iridescent with a metallic lustre, measuring to 5mm in size scattered evenly over the specimen. Individual Dolomite crystals measure to 3mm forming clusters to 2cm width, standing out prominently from the Baryte. An attractive piece, typical for the mine.
