Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe (Broken Hill), Central Province, Zambia
ex Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences
65mm x 40mm x 35mm
Collected during the Vaux expedition of 1929 at this Lead, Zinc and Silver mine in 1906. Isolated transparent pale yellow crystals to 10mm of this rare Phosphate mineral grow from a Limonite matrix. The crystals are well formed bladed crystals of superb lustre. Tiny crystals sprinkled over the matrix add extra sparkle. Good example of the species from its type locality!$400
