An aesthetic specimen from a new find of vibrantly coloured Calcites from Norway. These unusual specimens possess multiple generations of Calcite, in this specimen as rich amber coloured translucent crystals with scalenohedral habit. The diverging crystals grow from a Calcite and clay matrix, measuring to a height of 40mm. The scalenohedral crystals are quite complex with beautiful growth detail on the crystal faces, resembling the 'wheat sheaf' form. This particular specimen is one of a few with a later generation of tiny sparkling colourless Calcite crystals intergrown with grey clay forming sugary groups scattered over the amber crystals. The combination of beautiful glowing colour, translucency and satin lustre creates a very attractive specimen!
