HYDROXYLHERDERITE

Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil
45mm x 50mm x 35mm
A very fine example of a rare Phosphate mineral. The species is a late forming mineral in hydrothermal deposits, and the best of these specimens came from the Brazilian pegmatites. This single crystal on Albite is no exception! Translucent, white on the edges with a purple centre, it is well formed and exhibits a resinous to sub vitreous lustre which is heightened by internal reflections within the crystal. The crystal measures 45 x 40 x 35mm. Excellent display specimen, of which comparable specimens are hard to find.$4000
