Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia

A single large Azurite crystal has been almost completely pseudomorphed by Malachite. The Malachite forms dark green fibrous crystals intergrown in the form of the original crystal measuring nearly 6cm in height. Lustrous blue Azurite has remained as caps on the edges of the crystal, and in other small areas indicating the original crystal faces. The crystal has contact to other typical Tsumeb matrix minerals on the rear of the specimen. A magnificent pseudomorph!
