El Guanaco Mine, Guanaco, Santa Catalina, Antofagasta, Chile

An interesting display specimen exhibiting a range of attractive blue green colour due to the presence of two rare Copper Manganese Arsenates. Sub-botryoidal white Aragonite forms a layer which encircles mamillary mounds of bright blue Guanacoite and dark blue Arhbarite, with a fine green coating of Lammerite occurring over both species. This mine is the type locality for Guanacoite; and Arhbarite has only been noted as occurring from one other locality in Morocco - its type locality. A rich example of two rare species.
